The name of this product says it all. These 2-ounce cooking bases pack a big flavor punch, and certainly help the home cook who abhors or doesn't have time for food prep, but loves to cook fresh meals. Flavor Bombs for Cooking {Review + Giveaway}

Don’t think we’re back in college or high school and pulling a prank on a buddy because Flavor Bombs are not a joke. 🙂 These little packages are definitely the BOMB. Hee hee.

This product is definitely up my alley since I enjoy cooking and more specifically, meals that nowadays do not take too much time. I love using herbs, especially fresh herbs since I can get them for super cheap at our local store but I am still learning how to store them and therefore they spoil before I can use them.

New Company Successfully Launches Cooking Bases at NPEE

Goddess Gourmet successfully launched its new line of all-natural, fresh-frozen, gluten-free recipe-ready Flavor Bombs to a national audience during the Natural Products Expo East (NPEE) trade show in Baltimore.

“We had an overwhelmingly positive response from both retailers and distributors during the show,” said Giovannina Bellino, founder of Goddess Gourmet. “The show confirmed our belief that both retailers and distributors are looking for new and innovative products for their customers. Our tasting samples were a big hit as people were given the opportunity to experience what Flavor Bombs can do and how they can be used,” she said.

Flavor Bombs are a terrific new product that bring the great flavor of fresh herbs to your kitchen instantly to start or finish a dish. The aromatics and vegetables in Flavor Bombs are slowly sauteed until they are caramelized and golden for a great savory taste for sauces, stews, stuffings, breadcrumbs, rubs and marinades, on bruschetta, herb butters, as a base for braising, or in omelets, frittatas, batters and quiche, They're available in Basil, Soffritto, Mirepoix, Rosemary and Sage.

What I Learned at My First Fancy Food Show

The woman at this booth was the first person I met at the show. Her name was Giovannina Bellino and she was so nice. She has these great little packets she’s put together so your job in the kitchen is easy. They’re called Flavor Bombs. Giovanina says they’re an all natural, fresh, frozen cooking base. You can use them as flavoring in dishes or as a base for pasta. They can start a dish or finish one. They come in five flavors: Soffrito, Mirepoix, Basil, Rosemary and Sage. They looked really good but I didn’t taste because it was too early for garlic. Now I wish I had. Here’s a link where you can order them and try them out: Flavorbombs

Chicken Piccata with Squash Noodles, featuring Flavor Bombs!

I used to love Chicken Francese until I learned that there was a little too much egg involved for my liking (amongst unhealthy nonsense). Chicken Piccata still has the same lemon flavor but breaded like a more typical cutlet (egg first, then flour or breadcrumbs). This Paleo-friendly version of the Italian classic is spot-on. The tomatoes add a bit of sweetness and some brightness to an otherwise monochromatic dish. We also recently tried Flavor Bombs which take some of the prep time out of cooking. I used the Soffritto (onion and garlic) bomb as part of the sauce for the squash noodles. Definitely a time saver when I made this meal in a crunch! Thanks to Gluten Free Follow Me for offering the awesome giveaway - can't wait to try the other varieties!

Save your leftovers

I don’t think I can describe this any better than Gio Bellino of Flavor Bombs:

“Get in the habit of freezing bits of meals! What I mean by that is saving small amounts of that fabulous gravy on your meatloaf, save the chicken fat you skim from your soup, save some of that bacon grease (especially the maple flavored mmmm), save some of that rub, marinade, herb blend. Saving small amounts of stuffing or vegetables will provide you with a savory mixture to either puree for a sauce or reuse as a breading. Having these elements in your freezer will make cooking future dishes a snap.”
